The Air Koryo Ilyushin IL-62M – Reg. P-885 – is a 1/200 Scale Die Cast Metal Model and measures approximately 10-1/4″(L) x 10-1/4″(W) x 3-3/4″(H). Introduced in the early 1960s by the Soviets as a 4 engine, long range jet for approximately 200-passengers, it was the largest jet of its kind when it initially took to the skies. It was also the first airplane of its type to be flown by the Soviet Union and remained in service for many decades. Although more than 30 countries have flown the IL-62, the IL-62M variant, which is the longest serving model in its class, is utilized by the North Korean Airline, Air Koryo, which is the last passenger airline to operate this aircraft.
