The Spanish Air Force McDonnell Douglas EF-18A Hornet – F/A-18A Hornet – Ala 15 – 15th Wing, Zaragoza Air Base – NATO Tiger Meet – Reg. C.15-14/15-01 – is a 1/72 Scale Die Cast Metal Model and measures approximately 10-1/2″(L) x 10-1/2″(W) x 3-1/2″(H). Initially introduced into combat with the 1986 USA bombing of Libya, and then again in the Gulf and Iraq Wars, the EF-18A Hornet is a versatile, supersonic fighter and attack jet that was designed as a very capable aircraft for offensive and defensive operations with exceptional flight characteristics and can transport an extensive array of weapons. This EF-18A model of the FA-18A Hornet, which is operated by the Spanish Air Force out of its Zaragoza Air Base, is decorated with a tiger crest on its vertical stabilizer to celebrate Tiger Meets, which are exercises to develop and support unity and teamwork by NATO Air Forces.
